Using the Canon Camera Connect App
Assuming you already have a Canon camera and tripod, the first step is to download the Canon Camera Connect app from the App Store or Google Play store.
Once you have the app installed and open, click on the plus symbol in the bottom left hand corner and select Add New Device.
Enter in your camera model and serial number, and click Next.
Now you will be prompted to choose a connection type.

Once you have entered in your camera information, click Next.
You will now be prompted to choose a shooting mode.
Select Manual and click Next.
