I had been using the same settings for years, so I thought my pictures were always the same. I always took pictures of the moon with a 500 mm focal length. Now I have been taking pictures of the moon with a 200 mm focal length, and I have better pictures.
A lot of people don’t know what focal length settings are and why they are important. But they can be the difference between a great shot and a bad one. It is the distance between the subject and the image sensor or film plane. The shorter the focal length, the wider the image.
